What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of over a hundred cannabinoids that can be found in the cannabis plant. While CBD is often associated with the marijuana plant, it is typically derived from marijuana's legal relative - hemp. Contrasting marijuana, hemp has large amounts of CBD present and very low levels of THC.

According to the World Health Organization, CBD is not linked to intoxication or dependency. Studies suggest that CBD may have beneficial effects on the body including acting as a nerve protectant, combatting inflammatory, neurologic and metabolic conditions, and as a pain reliever.

In June 2018 the FDA approved the first formal CBD medication used in the treatment of severe epilepsy. Further studies into the different benefits of CBD are ongoing and promising.
